About

One person, and you always get the same one

Mayfair IT is a working systems engineer doing weekend break-fix on the Gold Coast. No franchise, no call centre, no rotation of technicians.

The background

Monday to Friday, Grant works full time as a systems engineer, supporting around 40 sites across Australia on Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Okta, Azure, Active Directory, Meraki networking and mobile device management. Those are current skills, used daily at a scale bigger than anything a small business on the Gold Coast is likely to run.

On the weekend, that same person turns up at your house or your office. A home user with a slow laptop gets the same engineer a 20 seat office gets for a tenant migration. There is no junior, no subcontractor, and no franchise roster.

Why weekends

Because the weekday job is full time, Mayfair IT trades onsite on Saturdays and Sundays only. That is a limitation and it is stated plainly across this site: if you need someone onsite at 10am on a Tuesday, this is not the right fit. Remote support is more flexible, with after-hours sessions on weeknight evenings available when needed.

It is also where the pricing comes from. Most Gold Coast providers add 30 to 60 percent for weekend work because weekends are their overtime. Here, weekends are the normal working week, so you pay the normal rate, and there is no callout fee inside the service area.

How this business works

  • No franchise. Nobody is paying a head office, and nobody is being sent to you off a roster.
  • No contracts. Work is billed by the hour as you use it. Prepaid blocks are available if you want priority, and nothing locks you in.
  • Published pricing. Every rate is on the pricing page. Nobody in the local market publishes theirs.
  • Insured and registered. Public liability and professional indemnity insurance in place, and an ABN in the footer of every page.
  • Mobile, no shopfront. Work happens at your home, at your office, or remotely. That is why there is no address on this site.

What you will not get

  • Hardware you do not need. Recommendations are what the job requires, not what carries a margin.
  • A false "unfixable". If it can be repaired sensibly, it will be. If it cannot, you get a reason, not a shrug.
  • Surprise bills. An estimate before the visit, a heads up before it is exceeded, and an itemised invoice after.
  • A repair that should have been a replacement. If replacing is cheaper than repairing, you will be told, even though it means a smaller job.

Questions about how it all works are answered on the FAQ page.

Calling is the fastest way to get a time. If it can be fixed remotely, you will hear that first, because it is cheaper for you.
